The different angles reveal different parts of the room partition. The angle is what dictates the amount and portion of the middle section which is revealed. The patterning also casts an enchanting shadow.

This project was the result of my materials class, we were tasked with creating a new material inspired by a city. I drew my inspiration from Budapest after a recent visit. The unusual topography of the city immediately caught my eye and became the ultimate inspiration for my design.

Budapest is known for it;s unusual topography, The city/cities are divided by a bridge and waterway. One side is completely flat while the other side features a variety of hills.

The topographical map is what inspired the design of the overall room divider. The design was first sketched out, then transferred into auto-cad and cut on a laser cuter. Lastly it was hand assembled.
